Kajang, 6th February 2010. eNCoral has successfully conducted Innovation Day (INNO 2010) at Country Height Resort, Kajang. Almost 100% of the confirmed participants from permanent staff and special invitees showed up. The INNO 2010 was exclusively facilitated by eNCoral chairman, Mr Azman Hussin.
INNO 2010 has not only enabled the staff to meet and share ideas, it also at the same time, educate and train staff with new techniques in conducting workshops as well as meetings. INNO 2010 started with Quran recitation of few verses from surah al-Hadid (57-Iron) by Mr Shahrul Isham in meeting the theme of the event - “innovation”. The meaning from part of verse 25, “And We brought forth iron wherein is mighty power as well as many benefits for mankind.” It is a fact that mankind has been very innovative with iron for decades and many more years to come.
During the welcoming speech, eNCoral Managing Director, En Amin has shared a brief company history. eNCoral was initially started as a Personal Computer vendor in 1989, moved to become System and Network Integrator in 1993, carrying products such as Sun Microsystems, CISCO, Oracle, and Lotus Notes. In year 2000, the company has decided to be focusing more on System Integrator with Oracle as the main under-lining product. Today, as eNCoral has been awarded with Oracle Platinum Partner, the highest partnership level in Oracle.
With a tag line of Ibda’a Now for New Opportunities, INNO 2010 participants were introduced to Time Line. It is a technique, where all the participants are able to share their good, bad and unclassified moments with eNCoral. At the end of the Time Line session, the same thought and understanding were shared among the participants and they able to move forward, to meet the event objectives. For this event, the objective was to captures great ideas from the participants through the innovative session. (Ibda’a is an Arabic word which mean Innovate).
The innovation session, conducted using a World Cafe technique, were focusing on two areas namely new business/product and internal improvement. The participants were able to share their thoughts and ideas freely with free-flow of high-grade coffee/tea such as Cappuccino, Espresso, and White Coffee. Dozens of ideas were churned up, and only about ten were to be selected. En Azman introduced another technique called “dotmocracy” to allow the participants to choose the best innovative ideas for the proposed business/products and internal improvements.
Finally, the event were concluded using Open Space technique where the participants could become bees or a butterflies if they are not one of the host, and the hosts are the expert in the selected topics. Unfortunately, due to time constrain, almost all of them choose to become a merely butterfly. Eleven initiatives were finalized with proposed team structure including project manager, team members and scheduled milestones.
Random comments from the participants showed that they enjoyed and satisfied with the event. Some has proposed to make the event annually, and some even proposed to be combined with company outing or family day with 3 day 2 night package. Congratulation to the organizing committee.
You may learn and experience with these techniques during our future workshop sessions for our product and/or consultancy services. More pictures can be viewed from the gallery.
